MOVING DAY: 40 Inwood Circle and Updated LabAtlanta.Org!

Early this Monday morning our associate director, three full-time faculty, and I opened the doors for the first time at Lab Atlanta's new home here at 40 Inwood Circle. Tucked behind The Temple, Invesco and Steelcase (and across the street from SCAD's Digital Media Center and the long-time home of WSB-TV) the Iconologic Building is such a welcoming spot. We occupy 3 floors of this 4 story building with uber-creative friends downstairs, loads of spectacular natural light, and 7,000 square feet of community rooms, galleries, student studios, partner spaces, and faculty offices. We love staking ground here at such a vibrant intersection (Peachtree at Spring Street), right in the heart of midtown and in the midst of thriving artistic, educational, and cultural institutions and alongside businesses and residential neighborhoods. We have been working towards this day since last spring, and it feels so good to now call it home. I know that I speak for all of us when I say we can't wait to open the doors to our enrolled students and families for a sneak-preview in early December AND for our inaugural semester beginning with orientation at the end of the first week of January!

And while we are settling into our new physical home, we have been working with our great friends at Office of Brothers and the fabulous photographer Kesha Peace/Brooklyn Kennedy Photography to more fully develop and relaunch our website. We are pleased with the new look and feel, and would love to hear your thoughts! You will continue to find our Field Notes and social media streams linked from the Home page, but for the first time you can read about:

Our Model

Our Curriculum

Our Strategic Partners

Our Mission and Goals

Of course, the most exciting news of all is that the 2017-18 application portal will be open beginning December 1st! Be on the lookout soon for the Apply Now button on the website. And please note: Current 9th graders will have the opportunity to spend either their fall or spring semester of 10th grade with us. So, start thinking about your plans now and do not hesitate to reach our to Mr. Pardee or me with any questions. We look forward to bringing all these wonderful Atlanta young people together for an extraordinary semester here in the city. Cheers!
